So our friends at Ashbury not only are dropping Goggles (as well as fabulous wears) this fall but also some fine fine shades. Yes, it's true you can go to your favorite retailer and pick, ask for, and yes demand your own pair of Ashbury Shades.

Guess What

Koston, Kennedy, Mariano, Szafranski On Neff Ventura, CA-Eric Koston, Guy Mariano and Braydon Szafranski join Terry Kennedy to launch the official NEFF HEADWEAR Skate Team.

NEFF HEADWEAR recently added Eric Bork as skate team manager. The new focus at Neff is to design and market product for the skate world. Each skater has designed their own signature cap that will be in the upcoming spring line. Headwear is a highly overlooked niche that Neff has made a top priority. Neff’s goal is to make the best fitting hat, which they finally feel has been accomplished.

Neff will debut its new cap fit at ASR, which has been in the works for over three years. “I sit in my office on the daily and say, ‘WOW! Is that really our skate team?’ I am amazed with how the crew has come together and what an amazing group it is. I feel very fortunate to be working with each of these skaters and I believe this is one of the most well rounded teams in the game, covering all realms of talent and style that make up skateboarding,” says owner Shaun Neff.

Thats what!

Gnar

Image.romesnowbords.com

So Rome SDS is a brand that holds it down for the local crews, the heads that ride everyday together. These crews have always push the homies forward. Think about it, how that session is always better with the crew. Well for the second year in a row the Local Gnar Contest, which is a edit of you and your crew have fun. Is won by a Michigan posse, Stewart Smith and friends came out with the favorite flick for the year as judged by the guys/gals over at Rome SDS. Also as kicker Dan from Ohio and his homies came in a respectable third.

Here's the press release.

Rome SDS Announces the Winners to the Second Annual GNAR Contest

For the second year in a row, the Rome SDS held its Local GNAR contest. It’s a chance for local snowboard crews to get out there and put together a short film about their unique perspectives on snowboarding, and get a chance to win some cash, gear and fame.

Looking for the video that most made the SDS want to go shred, Rome had a super hard time picking a winner from the pile of submissions this year. After a couple days of watching all the short videos, the crew judging the contest definitely wished it was December or January with a ton of snow in the hills.

In the end here’s how it all broke down.

In 3rd place was Dan Mizicko from Vienna, OH, taking home 2 pairs of Rome 390 bindings, 5 pairs of gloves and 5 Local GNAR T-Shirts.

In 2nd place it was Courtney Walton and her crew from Bend, OR scoring 2 Rome Artifact snowboards, 2 pairs of 390 bindings and 10 Local GNAR T-Shirts.

And the Grand Prize winner was the Local GNAR video submitted by Stewart Smith and his crew out of Lake Orion, MI. They’ll be grabbing $1000, 2 Rome Artifacts, 2 pairs of 390 bindings and 20 Local GNAR T-Shirts.

Make sure to check out the winning entries (and some honorable mentions) that will be posted on the new Rome website which will be up and running at the end of this summer.

In the meantime, check out www.romesnowboards.com for the new trailer of No Correct Way, a Film About Knuckle Draggers due out early fall.

Ole' to midwest crews.

Make It Happen

Just a little tease of what good things are to come. Mike F-in-2-the-a Forester came in and helped put this thing down in a whirlwind of Hype and Creativity. We're shooting to have a release party (details forth coming) and issues around ASR (Sept 4Th-6Th). With the majority of the layout finish, Mike just departed to the leisurely shores of Marquette Michigan, where he surely will be celebrating not sitting in this hot ass room with me, oh, and possibly the 4Th of July?!

Large and In charge THANK YOUS to all the Contributors, Sideways Sliders-n-Gliders, Dreamers, Midwesterners, Industry folk, Shops, Carrie(Wifey), and MIKE FORESTER!!!! yeah four of those bad boys...
