So we took two point guards back to back in this years draft and while Ricky Rubio tries to get out of a bad contract in Spain, our other PG went to Vegas and showed that he's going to be a solid addition to the team. So solid that we traded our last seasons main PG outa town. Couple things of note on Jonny, he jumps off two feet which makes it harder to knock him off this course in the air. When a player jumps of one foot in the lane they often can be pushed around if meet midair. I think this is a asset in the league around the rim, as he is a small (shorter) player. He also has a solid handle (he did turn it over often in summer league playing to fast?) which allows him a quick change of direction (key on pick and everything NBA plays). Jumper looks strong from range and his sight looks to be able to produce plenty of opportunities for the rest of his teammates.
Ellington to looks like he'll be a player of NBA caliber with a smooth jumper and some athleticism. May not be a starter quality SG but looks like a great rotational guys with a load of offense potential.
Now lets get Rubio here with some endorsement loot and get the season rollin.

So here's the press release, looks like TWS is looking to bring there successful Skate and Create formual to Snow.
"TransWorld SNOWboarding is starting this season off with a bang! The upcoming September issue features the all-new Team Shoot Out, an event focused on the creative side of snowboarding. TransWorld Editor-in-Chief Annie Fast says, “We came up with the Team Shoot Out as a way to challenge riders, photographers, and park builders to creatively progress snowboarding and to capture that progression-the success has been mind-blowing!” This past winter, four of the best teams in snowboarding- Forum, Burton, Rome, and DC-secretly battled it out at four different resorts, pushing to shoot the best photos and video possible in one week’s time. The prize: the cover shot on the September issue of the mag. The teams worked with experts from Snow Park Technologies to design the ultimate park, photographers were challenged to shoot the best photographs, and videographers to film and edit the best videos, which were then submitted to TransWorld this spring.
The results of this first-annual event surpassed all expectations. Director of Photography Nick Hamilton says, “Every team submitted cover-worthy photos-coming from an event, that is pretty amazing.” On top of that, the incredible Shoot Out video will be available for download on iTunes starting July 27. Beginning July 17, you can follow the unveiling of the event bit by bit at TransWorldShootOut.com. With riders like Bjorn Leines, Pat Moore, Kelly Clark, and Torstein Horgmo, and seasoned media pros like Ian Ruhter, Brad Kremer, and Andy Wright behind the cameras, the Shoot Out is a sure shot.
Stay tuned-on July 27, 2009, TransWorld SNOWboarding will announce the winner of the inaugural Team Shoot Out and launch the exclusive video on iTunes.

Last year Familia Skateshop had a great idea, running fun events on replicas of real Minnesota street spots. First one went down on the infamous Red Wave. So what would the follow up be? Steep Bank of Doom it was.
The weather was awesome no drying the run up pre-game. So lots of people were out for Bastille days, Roller Girls demo, Fat Tire swill, live Music, and Steep bank destruction. Video below by the one and only Kevin Horn.

So been meaning to drop these on the regs, but I like the mass post since, it's a repost any ways. Well first issue of Snowboarder Mag is on the table and I'm firing up like every summer. How can I get to Hood, what season passes to buy, is Beartooth still ago? Yeah heads racing, Bovee's getting married tonight so, guess I'll focus on that. Second issue ideas are in the mix too, I have a potential line up of interviewees, I need to get those dialed. Photo's are stacked, with heavy contributions from OH, MN, MI, still looking for a strong images from WI, ND, SD, IN, KS, IA.
Windell's funnest place on earth? Youth, Skateboarding, Basketball, Snowboarding, Paintball, man sound pretty fun to me. Add in Bjorn, Marius, Eiki, Staale, and Johnny in the mix, poof Rome Week.

Dan Rips, been ripping for a long time. Check any Bald-E-Gal flick and the proof is in there. He's a cool cat who snowboards on this own terms. He push himself and has worked hard to get to where he's at in the game. Looks like this year is going to be huge for him in terms of coverage. Check his interview here.
I remember a day up at Beartooth Pass were Dan and Erza were sessioning this Booter and Dan is like, "I'm going to double cork this thing", so I drive him up the switchbacks to the drop spot. I than positioned myself back at the parking lot to watch as he drops in, fully commits, and stomps first try. I mean at this point only JP and maybe Benedic had done this trick on film. It was heavy. Thats how Dan rolls.
Ole' Blue Collar Brisse
